Sawyers Close – Initial Demolition Notice
In December the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) agreed to grant planning permission for 413 new homes and the phased demolition of the four existing blocks at Sawyers Close. You can read more here.
There’s still a lot to do before full planning permission is granted. We are now starting to prepare Sawyers Close before construction starts. On Monday 15 January all households at the four blocks at Sawyers Close received an Initial Demolition Notice (a formal legal document).
This is part of the legal process we need to follow to move forward with our proposed regeneration. This does not mean that demolition is about to start. Demolition will only take place once customers have moved out of their existing home and demolition is not planned to start until 2026 at the earliest.

Sawyers Close – shed survey
Part of the work to prepare the site for construction includes the demolition of the on-site garages, sheds, and the Pump Room. This is to make way for a new play park so that the site of the existing play park can be used for the first phase of construction. We’re committed to providing existing customers with temporary storage options during the construction period but we need to know how many sheds are being actively used. If you have a shed and would like to have temporary storage once they’ve been demolished please complete this survey.
