Abri will share details of its latest proposals for the potential redevelopment of Sawyers Close, Windsor at a public consultation event on Saturday 25 June. Working in partnership with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, Abri is looking at options to regenerate the existing estate, enabling it to provide a range of affordable housing, both for existing customers and for others in housing need locally.
The event will be held at the New Windsor Community Association, Hanover Way, Windsor SL4 5NW between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.
Abri is inviting its customers and the wider community living around Sawyers Close to visit the exhibition to view the latest proposals and leave their feedback with the project team.
This event marks the latest step in Abri’s consultation programme that is running throughout 2022. Early plans were shared with Abri’s customers at a series of information sessions held in April 2022; the valuable feedback received has informed the current proposals.
Anyone who is unable to attend the public exhibition will be able to view the information presented at the event and give their feedback through the dedicated Sawyers Close website: www.sawyersclose.com following the event.
Andy Skarzynski, Executive Director Strategy, Business Intelligence and HR at Abri said: ‘We look forward to sharing our latest design proposals with our customers and the wider community. These proposals build on the early designs that we shared back in April.
‘Our proposals are all about providing high quality homes, with better public open space that benefit our existing customers and neighbours. All of the new homes would be affordable, which would go a long way to helping those who are in housing need locally.
‘We’ve been really pleased with the engagement that we’ve had so far, and the excitement with which so many of our customers have viewed the designs and given their initial feedback.
‘This latest consultation is a really important stage in the development of our proposals and we hope that as many people as possible view the updated designs and share their feedback with us.’
Councillor Samantha Rayner, Deputy Council Leader and Cabinet member for Business, Corporate & Resident Services, Culture & Heritage, and Windsor, said: “We are committed to working with partners including Abri to address the housing challenges residents face in the Royal Borough, improving social outcomes for all and supporting our vulnerable residents. The potential for the redevelopment of Sawyers Close and the provision of more affordable homes for local residents is very exciting. This is a fantastic opportunity to improve homes for our residents and quality of living. We are sure Abri has gained lots of valuable community feedback from the community engagement sessions and there will be further consultation as the plans develop so we encourage everyone to get involved to help shape the future of Sawyers Close.”
Following the consultation, Abri will consider the feedback received and finalise its proposals.
